About Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is one of the most attractive places in Central Asia, more than two-thirds of its territory is occupied by mountains (the average height is 2750 m above sea level), with diversity of climate, natural landscapes, reach flora and fauna. Visiting Kyrgyzstan, you will discover the country of snow-capped mountains, enjoy the view of the sun-drenched Tian-Shan harsh peaks. The local currency is Kyrgyz som, but dollars are widely spread and you can find many places to pay dollars: shops, restaurants, clinics, etc. You can either bring cash with you or you can take the card to withdraw from ATM, also restaurants and shops accept credit cards. Just in villages, paying with cash is a must.

Religion – Islam – 75%,

Orthodox Christianity – 20%, others – 5%.

Locals speak Russian or Kyrgyz, both are listed as official languages in Kyrgyzstan. Also you can easily find English-speaking person in the capital city of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek.

International cuisines are widely offered and served in restaurants, cafes and bars: American, European, Asian.

The prices in Kyrgyzstan are extremely affordable. Food and drink average prices – Basic dish – 3$, Full dinner with multiple courses – 10-15$, Beer (0.5l) – 1$. Hotels average prices – 25-150$. Taxi to/from Bishkek  international airport Manas – 7$. Taxi in the city – 1-2$.

Kyrgyz people are generally welcoming, hospitable and open. Kyrgyzstan is a pretty safe place to travel.

Moving to the Mountains

It will take about 10-14 hours to reach the camp in mountains. Everything depends on camp location and season. In winter for example due to snowfalls mountain roads can be closed for some days. Also some time can be spent in the city while documents and permits are preparing. Delivery to the mountain camp is carried out on off-road vehicles. Horses are used for transportation far in the mountains. There are several nature protection and border checkpoints on the way to the camp. Usually helicopters are not provided personally. But it is possible to hire a helicopter for groups of tourists.

Accommodation

We hunt in a number of different areas across Kyrgyzstan. Accommodation in all the hunting areas range from comfortable camps to rustic tented camps. Some camps are well-equipped houses and yurts (unique housing of Kyrgyz people) some others consist of trailers and quick strike tents. Spike camps equipped with generators and portable stoves. We offer several hunting camp options while hunting with us, depending on your hunting locations.

Food in the mountains camp is usually the following: rise, pasta, bacon, salami, vegetables, canned food, tea and fruits. We suggest you to bring snacks with you such as nuts, jerky, trail mix, wheat thins, chocolate bars, tuna, etc. as it is not available far in the mountains. Bottled water is available in camps. Beverages such as vodka and beer  are provided. You can bring with you any water purification tablets if you are skeptical about water quality and instant coffee if you prefer coffee rather than tea.

About the hunt

Each hunter is accompanied by 2-3 guides for the top hunt performance. There are several professional hunters with excellent hunting skills in our outfit who accompanies clients on hunts. IBEX hunting physical demands: middle – high (in some destinations riding on horseback, sleeping in tents). It will take about 10-14 hours to reach remote trophy area. Here you can find big size IBEX. Average trophy quality is 48 (120 cm)″.

Less distant places require less transportation time, you can hunt here for medium IBEX. Depending on the time of the year the hunt takes place all day long. Every destination is carefully researched and chosen to give you the very best possible experience. All the hunters to be equipped with satellite phone or portable radio station. Fully equipped 4×4 hunting vehicle included in our rate. Professional hunting tents and canvas are provided for our guests. We provide professional staff such as drivers, guides, cookers, entrepreneur, etc. Our partners provide horses and food. Also our partners acquire permits and licenses, usually these guys are from government authorities. All guys have hunting experience. Altitude depends on hunting area. But usually it is middle and high altitude: between 8000-15000ft. But altitude can be a danger as some people begin to experience problems and symptoms of altitude sickness and start to have problem with acclimation. Some medications help prevent, or lessen the effects of altitude sickness such as Ibuprofen and Diamox.

Some remote hunting areas to be reached only riding horses. Also some difficult slopes to be crossed only walking. But this activity will help you to find and get jumbo animal.

Usually in cold seasons, hunters have to spend the whole day out of camp hunting and come back late night. Spiking-out is for physically prepared and ambitious hunters. For the ones who wants to get IBEX 45” it is required to stay in tent camps far in mountains. Spot-and-Stalk Hunting is the best option. The goal of spot-and-stalk hunting is to see the animal before it sees you, and craft an approach plan for a good shot opportunity. It’s an exciting, challenging tactic used anywhere can spot game from a distance. Good shooting skills are must have. We do not encourage animals riding and chasing. Usually mountains contain good numbers of ibex. Ideal habitat for a variety of game.
